Milwaukee, March 26, 2024…The Marcus Corporation® and Variety – the Children’s Charity of Wisconsin are thrilled to announce the 47th annual Ben Marcus Golf Outing, a popular two-day golf fundraiser that will include the “Golf with an Executive” event, which lets people bid on the chance to play a round of golf with members of Marcus’ leadership team. The outing will take place at the Marcus Grand Geneva Resort & Spa on Monday, July 22, preceded by the “Golf with an Executive” event happening Sunday, July 21.
This annual outing brings together links enthusiasts and supporters of Variety – the Children's Charity of Wisconsin for a fun day of golf and fundraising in honor of Ben Marcus, founder of The Marcus Corporation and the Variety Club Children’s Charities in Milwaukee. Proceeds from the event will benefit and enrich the lives of children with physical or developmental special needs and their families. Over the past 47 years, the event has consistently sold out and has raised $2.8 million dollars for the cause in the past two decades, with the 2023 event raising $124,000.
Steve Marcus, chairman emeritus and special advisor to The Marcus Corporation, has been golfing in this event honoring his father, Ben, since its inception. “Every year, the Ben Marcus Golf Outing is an event that is filled with community and fun,” he said. “But I’m especially proud that it highlights how dedicated volunteers and professionals can make a huge difference in the quality of the lives of kids and their families.”
Sunday, July 21: Golf with an Executive
From March 1 through July 1, Variety and Marcus supporters and golfers will have an exclusive opportunity to bid on golfing nine holes with a Marcus executive in their foursome on Sunday, July 21. The Marcus Corporation executive team has a range of skills on the green, from avid golfers to hobbyists, and they’re all-star conversationalists with their fingers on the pulse of the business scene in Milwaukee and in cities across the country where Marcus has a presence. Following the outing, all executives and guests will attend a VIP cocktail party.
