MARCUS THEATRES® ANNOUNCES UPCOMING OPERA AND BALLET IN CINEMA TITLES AT SELECT THEATRE LOCATIONS

Series brings enchanting ballets and world class opera performances from around the globe to local moviegoers

Marcus Theatres® today announced the latest titles in the 2012 Opera and Ballet in Cinema series, in conjunction with the Emerging Pictures Network of Cinemas. The program features world famous, classical ballets and the stunning new film-opera event, La Cenerentola: A Live Fairy Tale, at select Marcus Theatres locations beginning October 7. With the exception of The Nutcracker, (Sunday showing only) all Opera and Ballet in Cinema showings take place Sundays at noon and Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Local Time. Admission for Opera and Ballet in Cinema performances is $15 for adults, seniors and children. Tickets for performances are on sale now at http://www.marcustheatres.com/Movie/Events/.

“The Opera and Ballet in Cinema series transforms your favorite Marcus Theatre into a world class venue featuring dramatic performances from across the globe. Take in L’Altra Meta Del Cielo, a contemporary ballet piece from La Scala Ballet in Italy, Swan Lake, one of the greatest romantic ballets of all time, presented by the Royal Ballet in London or The Pharaoh’s Daughter, performed by the Bolshoi Ballet in Moskow, in addition to a repertoire of other amazing performances. This season’s enchanting lineup will not disappoint,” said Bruce J. Olson, president of Marcus Theatres.

Upcoming Opera and Ballet in Cinema performances featuring the Bolshoi Ballet, Moscow, La Scala Ballet, Milan, Netherlands Dance Theatre, The Hague and the Royal Ballet, London include: La Sylphide (Bolshoi) starring Ekaterina Krysanova and Vyacheslav Lopatin, L’Altra Meta Del Cielo (La Scala) starring Sabrina Brazzo, Andrea Volpintesta and Beatrice Carbone, Swan Lake (Royal) starring Nehemiah Kish and Zenaida Yanowsky, An Evening with Kylián/Inger/Walerski (Netherlands) featuring choreography from Medhi Walerski, Johan Inger and Jirí Kylián, The Pharaoh’s Daughter (Bolshoi) starring Svetlana Zakharova and Anastasia Yatsenko and The Nutcracker (Royal) starring Roberta Marquez and Steven McRae.

The series’ operatic performance will be La Cenerentola: A Live Fairy Tale, an operatic film by Andrea Andermann, starring Lena Belkina as Cenerentola.

La Sylphide: Sunday, October 7 at noon and Tuesday, October 9 at 7 p.m. Local Time (Bolshoi Ballet)
L’Altra Meta Del Cielo: Sunday, October 21 at noon and Tuesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. Local Time (La Scala Ballet)
Swan Lake: Sunday, November 4 at noon and Tuesday, November 6 at 7 p.m. Local Time (Royal Ballet)
An Evening with Kylián/Inger/Walerski: Sunday, November 25 at noon and Tuesday, November 27 at 7 p.m. Local Time (Netherlands Dance Theatre)
The Pharaoh’s Daughter: Sunday, December 2 at noon and Tuesday, December 4 at 7 p.m. Local Time (Bolshoi Ballet)
La Cenerentola: A Live Fairy Tale: Sunday, December 16 at noon and Tuesday, December 18 at 7 p.m. Local Time
The Nutcracker: Sunday, December 23 at noon. Local Time (Royal Ballet)
