MARCUS THEATRES® ANNOUNCES THE MET: LIVE IN HD SERIES 2012-2013 SEASON WITH PERFORMANCES TO DELIGHT OPERA LOVERS BOTH YOUNG AND OLD

Tickets on sale now for one-of-a-kind opera performances returning to select theatre locations this October with 12 live productions

MILWAUKEE--Marcus Theatres® today announced that the popular The Met: LIVE in HD series will return to the big screen for its seventh season at 33 select Marcus Theatres locations in seven states beginning October 13, 2012 with Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore. NCM Fathom Events and The Metropolitan Opera will present a total of 12 live and 12 encore presentations from October 2012 to May 2013. Tickets for all events are on sale now at www.marcustheatres.com. Admission for live performances is $24 for adults, $22 for seniors and $18 per child. Tickets for all encore performances are $18.

“We are excited to bring back The Met: LIVE in HD for its seventh season,” said Bruce J. Olson, president of Marcus Theatres. “Both opera aficionados and those new to the opera will enjoy a season of exceptional performances including five new productions and two Met premiere events, The Tempest and Maria Stuarda. From Mozart to comedy, dramatic tales of revenge and even ancient Egyptian love triangles, this spectacular line-up is sure to delight. We are looking forward to another wonderful season of operatic performances on the big screen.”

The Met: LIVE in HD and Encore performances in the 2012- 2013 series include: L’Elisir d’Amore (Donizetti), Otello (Verdi), The Tempest (Ades), La Clemenza di Tito (Mozart), Un Ballo in Maschera (Verdi), Aida (Verdi), Les Troyens (Berlioz), Maria Stuarda (Donizetti), Rigoletto (Verdi), Parsifal (Wagner), Francesca da Rimini (Zandonai) and Giulio Cesare (Handel).

All live performances will take place on Saturday afternoons throughout the season. Twelve pre-recorded encore performances will be shown on the third* Wednesday evening following each respective live event, with the exceptions of L’Elisir d’Amore, which will be shown November 7, Un Ballo in Maschera on January 9 and Aida on January 16. *Encores for L’Elisir d’Amore, Un Ballo in Maschera and Aida are scheduled four and five weeks following the live broadcast due to the holidays.
