MARCUS THEATRES® TO SHOW WE BOUGHT A ZOO JANUARY 21, DR. SEUSS’ THE LORAX MARCH 3 AND THE PIRATES! BAND OF MISFITS MARCH 31
IN “REEL MOVIES FOR REAL NEEDS” FILM SERIES
Milwaukee, Wis., January 13, 2012….. Marcus Theatres® today announced it will be showing We Bought a Zoo on January 21, 2012, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax on March 3, 2012 and The Pirates! Band of Misfits on March 31, 2012 at select theatre locations in its “Reel Movies for Real Needs” film series. “Reel Movies for Real Needs” is designed for families of special-needs children with autism or other challenges who cannot always attend regularly featured movies with their families.
All movies in the film series begin at 10:30 a.m. Regular matinee adult and child pricing applies. All movies are shown in 2D.
Starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson, We Bought a Zoo captures the true story of a widowed father who purchases a rundown zoo in hopes of giving his family a fresh start. With the help of an eclectic staff, he and his children work tirelessly to restore the zoo to its former glory. Moviegoers will adore this heartwarming adventure with something for every generation.
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax follows the journey of a 12-year-old boy as he searches for the one thing that will help him to win the heart of his dream girl. Before he can find this, the boy must first discover the story of the Lorax, a grumpy yet lovable forest creature who fights to protect the trees. Throughout their adventure, the two learn to work together as a team, while the Lorax teaches everyone a valuable environmental lesson along the way.
The Pirates! Bandit of Misfits is a wild, non-stop film in which a pirate Captain sets out on a mission to defeat his rivals, Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz, for the Pirate of the Year award. The quest takes Captain and his crew from the shores of Blood Island all the way to the foggy streets of Victorian London in this twisting tale that is sure to delight the whole family.
The “Reel Movies for Real Needs” program creates a welcoming and accessible environment for special needs children by offering age-appropriate films with a lower sound volume and brighter lighting for families who may not feel comfortable attending regularly scheduled shows.
