Marketing and Communications Manager - Milwaukee, WI

The Marketing and Communications Manager has primary responsibility for internal marketing communications as well as all public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing, communications, and public relations for Marcus Theatres and its food and beverage operations. Manages relationship with public relations agencies and coordinates at the strategic and tactical level with the other functions of the organization.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, can work collaboratively with a diverse staff to create and manage cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies.

This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and will directly manage associates in the Marketing department.


Essential Functions/Job Duties:

- Coordinate media interest in the organization and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests

- Act as the organization's representative to the media

- Act as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to institutional priorities

- Develop, coordinate, and oversee programs, technical assistance, and resource materials to assist executives, peers, and operations managers in the marketing, communications, and positioning of their activities

- Coordinate insertion and traffic management for Marcus Theatres Pre-show provider for PSAs and institutional marketing

- Oversee internal communications for the organization, including weekly bulletins

- Ensure the organization regularly conducts relevant market research. Marketing and Communications Manager will coordinate and oversee this activity and monitor trends

- Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events

- Coordinate the appearance of all organization print and electronic materials such as use of logo, trademarks, brochures, etc.

- Coordinate communications projects with supervisors, internal team, and vendors for the development and production of event promotional materials, video and photo assets, and other collateral

- Provide inetrnal marketing support and oversee development of collateral and other materials for Zaffiro's, Big Screen Bistro, Take Five, and other food and beverage operations

- Provide writing and editing support for all outbound communication including all news releases, announcements, promotional materials, website content, a weekly newsletter, and the corporate annual report

- Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently

- Participation in industry events as a representative of the organization

- Serve as internal liasion to the HR department for meetings

- Review and edit existing promotional materials for marketing executives, cross selling implications, and adherence to brand guidelines


Job Requirements:

- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities

- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills

- Experience developing and managing budgets and hiring, training, developing, suypervising, and appraising personnel

- Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations, and interacting with media

- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications used for internal consumer marketing

- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with design and photo editing applications is preferred

- Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams

- Strong oral and written communications skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time

- Occasional out-of-town, overnight travel is required


Education Required:

- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations preferred


Experience Required:

- Minimum of 10 years experience in marketing, communications, or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the exhibition or entertainment industries
