Instructional Designer - Corporate Office

The Instructional Designer & Trainer is responsible for the successful design and development of learning solutions for Marcus Theatres.  This role will work collaboratively with various operational partners and will execute projects from start to finish and will often work in a supporting role to the Corporate Director of Training and the Divisional HR Director.  This position reports to the Divisional HR Director.


Essential Functions/Job Duties:

·         Develops all levels of training including a variety of different delivery methods including elearning, instructor led and job aids.

·         Ensures proper implementation of existing operational development and training

·         Partners closely with operational leaders to establish learning objectives and gather necessary information

·         Monitors evaluations and implements recommended actions to ensure expectations are being met.

·         Prior experience with training facilitation and “train the trainer” facilitation.

·         Independently manages projects of all sizes that related to training

·         Identifies and manages project specific budgets

·         Updates course content as necessary

·         Coordinated program implementation by establishing a timely and cost effective delivery of program materials

·         Manage projects focusing on strategic business goals and return on investment of existing training.  Prepare and present project status reports to the HR Director.

·         Prior experience working with food and beverage best practices and industry standards

·         Assists with new theatre/restaurant openings as needed


Educational & Travel Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in a related field

Requires scheduling flexibility and willingness to travel as much as 30% of the time


Experience Required:

Requires 4 - 7 years of successful learning and curriculum design and development in a food and beverage environment

Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and in a group setting

Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Powerpoint, Excel and Word

Excellent training, coaching, presentation and communication skills

Demonstrated proficiency of instructional design techniques and project management for a variety of learning methods

Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team and across teams


Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with developing safety training manuals and materials

Prior experience working with food and beverage training design and development

Advanced degree and/or certifications a plus

Prior experience with elearning solutions
